Planning a Visit to Cubbon Park

For the residents of Bangalore Cubbon Park can be a perfect place for having a picnic and enjoy some family time.

You do not need to make big plan for visiting the Cubbon Park. All you need is just 6-7 hours or leisure time from your busy scedule and you can visit the Park easily.

How to Reach Cubbon Park

Cubbon Park has got a Metro Station very close to is so you don't need to think twice before visiting the Park. Just take a right turn after exiting the metro gate (Exit towards Cubbon Park) and keep moving, you will first get the parking area for 2 wheelers and after moving further you will be able to find people sitting on ground in Cubbon Park.

Jawahar Bal Bhavan Park

There is Also Jawahar Bal Bhavan Park close by which is a perfect place for kids to enjoy. There are various play areas and activity areas for kids there like Swings, Sea Saw, Toy Train, Boating and also a special play area for the physically challenged kids (Specially abled kids).

Cubbon Park Aquarium

The Cubbon Park Aquarium is closed as of now (Dec 2023), on Google as well it shows Temporarily Closed. It may open in future. It is advised to inquire before visiting the aquarium. 

Columbus Ride at Bal Bhavan Park

The entry ticket for the Jawahar Bal Bhavan Park needs to be purchased at the main gate itself. On weekends there is a long queue there and the waiting time to purchase the entry tickets can be as long as 30 mins

The tickets for Toy Train and Boating also need to be purchased at the entry gate itself.

Toy Train at Bal Bhavan Park

The Toy Train is usually the most crowded and on weekends there always is a long queue to take the Toy Train Ride. Waiting time for Toy Train after purchasing the tickets can be as long as 30-60 mins. I did not purchase the tickets for Toy Train as I saw a long queue of people waiting there but if you feel you can wait up to 1 hour then you should surely take the Toy Train ride as you will be able to see different parts of the Cubbon Park from the train and its really fun.

Boating at Bal Bhavan Park

The Bal Bhavan Park has a good boating area too and kids can enjoy the boating ride with family there. When I visited the Bal Bhavan Park for boating in December 2023 on a Saturday, I had to wait in queue for about 2 hours to take the boat ride, I still was supposed to wait for more 1 hour, hence I returned without using the boating facility. The reason why there was a long queue for boating is that they had only 1 operational boat that day which could accommodate about 10 people and that is why there was a long waiting queue there. My tickets got wasted. My suggestion is to avoid boating on weekends.
