How did I get to know about Tent City of Varanasi?

I had been to a Travel Trade Fair in August in Bangalore where hundreds of hoteliers and travel agents had come to showcase their facilities and services. When I visited a counter which was setup for Hoteliers from Uttar Pradesh. One of the hoteliers told me that Travel and Tourism in Varanasi is not only blooming but also leaving behind Goa. I first could not believe him but later on after reading some reports I realized that indeed Varanasi has become an amazing tourist destination. Apart from being one of the most religious places of the Hindus it is also one of the most desired location for movies too.

The hotelier whom I met in Varanasi told me that there is a lot of space available near the Ganga river bank. If this vacant space would have been suitable for setting up some factory or some other kind of construction work, it would have been done but fortunately or unfortunately that is not the case.
